Cat5e, Cat6 network cable installation

When running horizontal cabling it is very important to do so properly. On many occasions I have opened ceiling tiels to find wires lying across the grid and on top of light. Some times it looks as if the ceiling is going to fall in from the weight of the wires. Not only is this dangerous it is also preventable.

Having your cabling running across lights causes interference and noise that affect the quality in data transferred across the cable.

Its is always best to avoid areas that may cause interference. If possible stay 24'' away from power and florescent lighting.

Always secure cabling off the grid with proper hangers, J-hooks or cable tray. Having a cable tray is awesome and provides a secure location for all network cabling.

Always remember "if you don't have the time to do it right the first time when are you going to have the time to go back and fix it."
